From Penn Future

On Primary Election Day, Tuesday, May 17, vote YES on the environmental bond referendum -- and make sure that your friends, neighbors and anyone who cares about a cleaner and brighter future for Pennsylvania marches to the polls and votes YES on this vitally needed question.

On the ballot, Pennsylvania voters will be asked if they approve $625 million in new funding for a wide range of environmental initiatives. Approval of the ballot question will mean dedicated and desperately needed funding that will protect drinking water, maintain state and local parks, and fund vital environmental projects.

The ballot question will simply ask Pennsylvanians whether they approve of the Commonwealth borrowing up to $625 million for the "maintenance and protection of the environment, open space and farmland preservation, watershed protection, abandoned mine reclamation, acid mine drainage remediation and other initiatives." Anyone who is registered to vote in Pennsylvania may vote on the ballot question, even if she/he is a registered independent or belongs to a political party that is not holding a primary.

Voter turnout in primary elections in off years is notoriously light. Those who oppose conservation will be urging a vote against this critical funding. We must take nothing for granted.

It is crucial that everyone who supports investing in a cleaner environment votes YES on May 17. Please do everything you can to persuade your family, friends, neighbors and others in your communities and personal networks to go to the polls and vote YES on May 17.

Yes, this is the referendum which if everyone votes YES, will keep me from being furloughed. I'm going to unlock this - so please - if you live in PA, make sure people come and read it.

Making this entry public, mainly because I'm so proud of my munchkin.

I just mailed off a bunch of packages. knitmeapony and alegriagraciela - packages are on their way to you. Keep an eye out this week.

I also sent out a toy for rubybrazier's toy drive. It does figure that AFTER I get back from the post office, I find out the address had changed. Such is my life. But anyway - pinkfinity, if you could tell Ruby that particular toy was from my munchkin as well, I'd be appreciative.

See I purchased that earlier this week, and munchkin being nosy (as munchkin's are) he peeked in the bag and was intrigued - because it was a toy that really - he'd want very much. When I told him it was for a child that was going to have to spend Christmas in the hospital - he immediately wanted it to be from him as well.

And me being an airhead, I stuck it in a box, wrote a note and taped it up - completely forgetting to put a note it was from munchkin as well. So this entry is all about my generous munchkin and how he wanted to help make some other child's Christmas a bit better. I'm a very proud mommy right now.

And I did stop and get a bottle of peppermint schnapps AND butterscotch as well, so at some point - I'm going to make drinks. But not now. Now it's a quick nap, then cookie making. Or knitting. Have a lot of both to do. But I'm oddly tired. Maybe a nap.

Well am back at work after vacation. I have a pile of work to do, but felt the need to post to LJ. I'm still missing the t00bs very much - I put my picture from Navy pier up on my memory shelf, right next to my card from Professor Lupin - (I'm eying up the chocolate as well - I'm saving it for when I need to REALLY feel better). I have all the CD's by my side, and that's going to be my soundtrack for the day!

So - the trip yesterday - very uneventful. Spent my time in the airport utterly enthralled by Peter Pan (which I didn't have a chance to finish - that will be tonight). The flight was fine, and I was picked up by marvinetta with no problems as well. We got some food, then I headed up to my place, and made good time. Then munchkin came home and all was good.

I know I still owe some t00bs a CD. Kate, Lore, Kell, Jenny and Megan. Did I forget anyone? Once I get myself together, I'm going to send those off with some housewarming goodies for Kate and Jenny, and little surprises for the other three. For those of you who did get CD's and not play lists...here you go.

Evan and Jarone - From My Head to My Heart
Josh Groban - You're Still You
Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
Peanut Butter and Julie - Touch My Ass
Liz Phair - Why Can't I
Sophie B. Hawkins - Lose Your Way
Kasey Chambers - Not Pretty Enough
Santana - Why Don't You and I
Josh Groban - Never Let Go
Peanut Butter and Julie - All You Eggs
Josh Groban - Broken Vow
Sarah McLachlan - Full Of Grace
Josh Groban - You Raise Me Up
Dawson's Creek Soundtrack - Mistakes I Made
Boomtang Boys - Both Sides Now
Josh Groban - My Confession
Rascal Flatts - I'm Movin On
Kiki's Delivery Service - Soaring
Josh Groban - When You Say You Love Me

*eyes playlist* Yes, I know - LOTS of Josh Groban on there. Speaking of the incredible voiced one - he's playing at the Tweeter Center here on Sunday. I REALLY want to go, but don't have anyone to go with. No one here truly appreciates him. I don't suppose anyone would want to go?

Well, that's all she wrote for right now. Much love to everyone!

Just back

I'm so tired. But I wanted to say I had a fabulous time at POA in NYC. No coherant thoughts about the movie - I'm going to have to see it again. What struck me - how wonderful everyone was to munchkin! So yes it's true - I've given birth to Draco and Harry's secret love child. Pictures to prove it tomorrow.

I got to meet lissannej, slytheriness, and ari_o (and her boyfriend, too!), plus a bunch of great girls who once we got home, munchkin couldn't stop talking about.

Danni, thanks for everything, I'm glad we could take you up with us!

I'm making this entry public - so everyone that I met today - comment here - so I can get your user name! I'll post with the link to the pictures tomorrow, as well as a more coherant update.
